Camps that challenge the whole athlete

THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE PRIDE FOR OUR STATE

Of Aleut descent, born and raised in the village of Chignik Lagoon and on Kodiak Island, to eventually playing professionally in Germany and Australia, it has become Coach Alysa’s mission to utilize the tool of basketball to help inspire Alaskan youth to achieve beyond what they imagine possible.

She has done basketball camps in 18 Alaskan communities and counting. Let’s bring a camp to your community!

Information on how Coach Alysa typically structures camp found here.

  • "My kids just finished participating in the 3v3 tournament, and it is the 3rd one they have attended! They had a blast and are already looking forward to the next one. They both love the drills and the competition. The coaches make it fun and keep them engaged."

  • "The basketball development programs and skills camps have been phenomenal, very encouraging, and helped my daughter to make great progress. Well worth it!"

    — Scott & Rebecca Bleeker via Google Reviews

  • "Alysa leads amazing skills sessions and tournaments that focuses on improving fundamental skills and techniques in a positive and encouraging environment."

  • "Alysa has the technical skills and ability to teach her trade, but more importantly, she prioritizes emphasis on the the whole athlete. Often times, the hardest part of a sport can be the people you are working with, from teammates to coaches to parents and teachers. She focuses on individual mental strength and building strong relationships, and that is why we choose this camp over all others."

  • "Our son could not get ENOUGH of your basketball camp! He wanted to go EVERY day for the rest of his life! He had the BEST time! You are amazing coaches who instill drive, dedication, and love of the game into each player. We are so thankful you came to our little island to share the STOKE of this sport. Thank you & we can't wait until next year!"

Anchorage

August 3rd - 5th // at the o’Malley center

Local Alaskan talent convenes in one place for a back to school skill camp and 3v3 tournament! This camp is designed to give players a high quality experience where our experienced and knowledgeable coaching staff with teach for the first 90 minutes, and then the kids will compete in 3v3 games the last 90 minutes. This fast paced combination accelerates growth, builds camaraderie, and enhances love for the game. This camp is not recommended for beginner players.

Camp format this year will envelop a slightly wider age range per session, creating two age divisions per camp. For the morning group, a 3rd/4th grade division and 5th/6th division will compete in the 3v3 games, and the afternoon group will have two, possibly three, divisions depending on sign up numbers.

Our coaching staff may decide to place athletes outside of their age division if a different division is a better fit based on their abilities.

SIGN UP ENDS AUGUST 1ST

MORNING GROUP: 3rd - 6th Grade Session // 9:00 - 12:00pm

Basketball is a language spoken in every region of our state. It is a powerful tool to help young people learn and grow in areas of leadership, confidence, work ethic, discipline, resilience, commitment, good decision making, and many other positive outcomes.

Alysa Horn training in Fairbanks, Alaska at Monroe Catholic High School

“I have been coaching and running camps for the past 27 years and Coach Horn is one of the best clinicians I have worked with. Her unique combination of knowledge and ability to teach separate her from others. As great a trainer as she is, she is a better human being. Coach Horn genuinely cares about those she works with and is committed to helping everyone reach their full potential from a physical, mental, and skill standpoint. Her compassion, sense of humor and concern go far beyond helping a person get into better shape or dribble a basketball better.”
